Le Paris #un

Image
I was off on my first holiday abroad as an adult. I hadn't had time to be nervous, and at the time point also hadn't had time to be excited but as I was on my way to the airport, I knew my stomach cramps and the rain outside wouldn't dampen my spirits, only my clothes. I was all kitted out for Paris. i'd got my angry birds passport cover and had made a selection of BMA items to wear with Rosie. Including matching berets, a "best friend" eiffel tower necklace and matching olaf pez dispensers. That's pretty much you could ever want. We set off to get checked in which was a medium ordeal. The lady said she liked my burgandy hair colour and it was her favourite which was really nice and then she asked me to give my bag to this other area. Under strict instructions, i put my bag on some random scales and then pressed a door bell, which automatically opened up a hole in the wall where a mildly irritated and bored man took the bag from me and put it in a mac...

Newquay Town

Image
Im lucky enough to have a family to go on holiday with, which makes me super happy. After 3 years off the family tradition, my dad decided it was time to spend some seaside time together again. That and my mums gentle persuaison. This year was a little different. We had a new little man with us and my sisters boyfriend. After the most chaotic journey to Cornwall in the history of time, or mostly our time, we had finally arrived. I say chaotic, we were just stuck in holiday traffic for 9 hours. We all settled in to Priory Lodge which is our go-to hotel for staying in Newquay. The food is great, the staff are great and it feels like a second home. Our second day there, we managed to do what the Edwards's do best on their first day of holiday. Go to pound land. Don't ask me why. You would have thought the novelty would have worn off now its become so popular in almost every town and I am never more like 3 minutes away from about 4 in London but no. We still managed to spent ...

London Cocktail Club

Image
After arriving a little early, my boyfriend James and I pottered outside until it was about time to go in. We cautiously wondered down the stairs into a dark basement with thumping music. You would have never have guessed what was leading down the stairs from the simple sign outside. The atmosphere was electric. Everyone’s chats sounded like hums over the music and it was packed. We were seated to our table immediately where the manager greeted us and made us feel really welcome. With not much in the way of light, there were scattered candles everywhere and some main lights hovering over the bar, which the bar men swung every time a good song came on! We had a mug of popcorn and some water in between us on our table before we had our first order. Mine was a vanilla spring punch and James had a smoking barrel. My cocktail tasted amazing. The perfect amount of sour and sweet. I’m a big lover of sour and it really hit the spot. It is a vodka based cocktail with vanilla syrup. Ja...

The Royal Tease and G.A.Y

Image
I don't even really know where to begin. I managed to get some guest tickets for "The Royal Tease" burlesque show at the Intrepid Fox. We had almost a full house to go out with so I knew it was going to be pretty good whatever happened. And we had Molly. So you know. There was a strong start to the evening. I had to round everyone up, kind of like a mother. Everyone needed a wee or forgot their oyster card. We finally made it out the door 20 minutes later, only to get a tube that was forever delayed at every stop. We were dropping like fly's trying to get to Archway. James left at London bridge to wee and Molly left 2 stops before we got there after standing up because "it would help" and leaving her empty bottle of wine on the seat. I did a lot of shouting. There was a 10 minute wait in between each stop and i was half an hour late for something i was suppose to be reviewing. We got there and it was rammed. This tiny little "metal bar" just o...

XOYO.

Image
I'm going to compare this to Roxy, because that is my only other night out in London I've ever had. XOYO won and lost for different reasons. I was in Rosie's room when Jake came bounding in to talk about the cat cafe were going to - I don't know how to do the e accent, he then asked me if I wanted to come out dancing with them tomorrow night. A Monday. God. Of course I said yes because going out with Jake would be hilarious and I hadn't yet experienced it. He informed me it would totes be a flat and not a heel night and then I brought my ticket. No later than 3 seconds later, James was buying his ticket, Tim was getting one and then next door got in on the action, it was going to be a big night out. After some faffing around, we all finally started pre-drinking. Classic London money saver and also danger zone in one. Jake created a "cocktail" with lime vodka, cinnamon vodka and cranberry juice which I excitedly named J-licious after creating Sophil...

Roxy.

God, i'm hungover and i don't even know where to begin. I met Hannah at the tube station and we made our way to Lidl to buy wine, anchovies, houmous, pitta bread and some ginger bread things for my house mates. We got to mine about 4.30pm and started drinking immediately. Pretty bad life choice. I then wanted to make Hannah "delicious pasta", which is something James created at some point and showed me. It took me so long to do anything. Id started "cooking tea" for 20 minutes before anything was even in the pan. This night was going to go well. After some more wine and a frantic text to James asking him why my anchovies weren't going into a paste like they were suppose to, it ended up how it was suppose to, and then i fried some halloumi on top. Im not entirely sure what happened to me but i'm becoming domesticated. Hannah said it was nice, she ate it all so i believed her and then we got some tunes on. Charles let us borrow his speakers in...
