Tap cafe

Rosie and i had ambitions to walk to London Bridge, then Covent Garden to Oxford Street. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for us, the weather had other ideas. Aside from the windy chaos that is outside, we didn't let the intermittent showers dampen our spirits (Get it!?)

I scoffed a sandwich down on the way to the lift after my very late wake up of 11.30am. Better than i have been in the past so don't feel too guilty but am in desperate need of a caffeine fix and Rosie knows just the place.

Tap is located in Soho and would be relatively difficult to find if I hadn't have had Rosie navigating the way ferociously even with umbrella troubles. It looks like a place that would be a "lucky find" and something different to your generic coffee shop.

I had a flat white - yes, that happened - and a homemade pistachio florentine that got delivered to our table. We were given cute little bottles with playing cards as numbers for our order which was pretty cool and everything was relatively open and chaos free. It was chilled and far too cool for me to be a regular.

Rosie and i had a lovely deep conversation of happiness, when do you enjoy it, when do you stop pursuing it, all the normal things to ask on a bleak Wednesday afternoon whilst she chomped down her cheese and posh chutney sandwich. The florentine was crisp and crunchy with a nice little chew in the middle and tasted fresh. A great find for nutty lovers.

They had an ace selection of savoury and sweet treats and things that are just a little different. The prices don't set you back much further than a regular chain cafe and would go back there again if I found myself on Oxford street needing a nice atmosphere and something different to taste!
