I can't cook - Oreo stuffed cookie dough and chocolate brownie

Image
Yes, you did read that right. Upon my nightly ritual of looking at Instagram for about 5 minutes to see what recipes are there kicking about, I came across this on BuzzfeedFood. In nothing but a 30 second or so clip to show you how to make this freaking delight. I roped my housemate who is a lover of all things chocolate into this plan, and decided this was our chosen goodie for our next "bake night" You will need! A ready to bake packet of cookie dough mix A ready to bake packet of brownie And biscuits of your choice We used fake Oreos and Biscoff because of the new obsession I have with the Biscoff Krispy Kremes. Literally don't even bother trying one because that may or may not be your sole intake for the next week and a half. We both separated the extremely hard work of adding a table spoon to our mixture. It needed more than this but you guys will work it out Cookie dough first, smoosh it around a baking pan as the bottom layer Layer in the b...

Picked your own veg and then made a soup!

Image
I wanted to surprise my master chef with a trip out. I picked Hewits farm which is well known for their pick your own fruit and veg!*  *according to google. It was a mini mission to get there. After a train to Kent, we had to cross over about 56 roundabouts and walk on the roads just to get there. That's how you can tell you're not really in London anymore. That and there wasn't a Starbucks to be seen. There wasn't much on offer as the seasons are just switching over, but it was really fun and i imagine it would be 10x better in summer! I literally haven't been since I was a kid so this was such a treat. We got cabbage, beans, swiss chards, potatoes, broccoli and shallots.                                        With some of the veg we collected, i made this soul warmi...

I can't cook #4 - Nutella cornflake truffles

Image
I can't even. I discovered these could infact be a thing when my lovely other half had bought me some nutella and stored it in the fridge. I came to have my comforting nutella on toast and i couldn't even get it out of the jar without chipping it off and that my friends, was the beginning of how these were born. You will need: A jar of nutella Cornflakes / rice crispies / cocopops or any just as good Aldi variety Anything else you might want to add in to make it rocky road style like; marshmallows, raisins, craisins... Put your cereal in a bowl and then mash it all up with the back of a spoon. Be careful not to get it everywhere because that's what i did. Add nutella and fold it into the cereal of your choice. I also adopted the "smash it in there" technique which works just as well, if not better. Add anything else you might want to put in and then put it in the fridge to stiffen a little. I would say about 15- 25 mins. You could read a magazin...

I cant cook #3 - OMG green juice

Image
As i was boiling my spring greens for the occasional healthy salad i like to make as an attempt of trying to replicate what i eat out, i tipped away all the green juice in the pan and was suddenly like... OH MY GOD. So i poured the rest into a glass, this is where the good stuff is right? That's why steaming is better, because it keeps all the nutrients locked in. If, like me, sometimes you have a kitchen so grubby you cant find things to steam in and the microwave smells like 4 other peoples curries (#studenthalls) you may find refuge in a saucepan. I thought to myself, WHY AM I POURING ALL THE GOODNESS AWAY and came up with an idea to make it more drinkable. I chose - Spring greens - Basil - Spinach But feel free to wack in like Parsley cos that's well good for you, kale... you know the drill. Boil and save all the veg for dinner and use the juice. Add whatever you want to it. I imagine apple juice would be great, 100% pure obvs. Almond milk would probably work if you want a ...

I can't cook #2 - Herby tomato and cheddar pasta bake.

Image
I was in the mood for some hearty food after a weekend of naughty nibbling. I was surprised to see i had not gained but lost weight over my weekend break (even with all the cocktails) which inspired me to ignore the microwave and get stuck in. Some amount of pasta (I used a lot, that is a measurement) 1 can of co-op chopped tomatoes with oregano and garlic 2 heaped table spoons of tomato puree 30g of Half fat mature cheddar A sprinkle of parmesan, going to guess about 10g Quarter of a white onion I cooked the pasta in salted boiling water until it was aldente then drained and added chopped tomatoes. I fried some onions with the 1 cal light spray as i had left my coconut oil somewhere. Added the onions, puree and smooshed it all around then put it in a baking dish I lay some sliced cheese on the top and sprinkled the parmesan over it for crispiness. In the oven for 20 minutes on about 190. Add salt and pepper to taste after! I don't know how many syns are in this, ...
